Why “light” doesn’t mean “unsafe”

Effective screening is about patterns and clarity, not about collecting as many data points as possible. You can ask for just enough information to feel comfortable and still keep your flow simple and fast.

Sample text for ID-based screening

Example: “For new clients I use light screening. Please send a clear photo of your ID (you can cover the number) plus a selfie so I know who I’m meeting.” Keep it short and matter-of-fact. You’re stating policy, not asking for a favour.

Sample text for reference-based screening

Example: “I screen using references from other providers. Please send two names/links of people you’ve seen in the last 12 months and let them know I may contact them.” Screenshots of previous chats can also help when references are limited.

Sample text for deposit-based screening

Example: “To confirm our time, I require a small deposit sent via the options listed on my profile. Deposits are applied to the total, non-transferable, and non-refundable if you cancel late or no-show.” Write it once, paste it often.
