Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Pure Independents® (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit pureindependents.com and its sections (including but not limited to /Profiles/) (collectively, the “Service”). If a page or feature includes a separate privacy notice, that notice controls for that page or feature.

This document is for informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice.

Who We Are

Pure Independents® is an online directory-style platform. We are not an employer, agency, or service provider for listed profiles. For privacy matters, contact privacy@pureindependents.com.

Age & Sensitive Content Notice

The Service is intended for adults only (18+ or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). Do not use the Service if you are under the applicable age. Some content may be sensitive or adult-oriented.

Data We Collect

  • Automatic data: IP address, device/browser type, OS, language, referral/exit pages, timestamps, general location (e.g., city/region), pages viewed, and interactions. Collected via cookies, local storage, logs, and similar technologies.
  • Analytics and performance data: Metrics about Service usage (session duration, events, error reports).
  • Profile and listing data: Information that profile owners choose to publish (e.g., photos, descriptions, availability). Publication is voluntary and at the discretion of the profile owner.
  • Communications: Emails or messages you send to us, including necessary metadata to route your request.
  • Advertising identifiers: Pseudonymous identifiers used for ad delivery/measurement where applicable.

How We Use Data

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Personalize content and measure engagement.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce terms.
  • Communicate with you about the Service.

Where applicable (e.g., EEA/UK), we process personal data under these legal bases: consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests (e.g., site security, analytics), compliance with legal obligations, and protection of vital interests where necessary.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to remember preferences, maintain sessions, and analyze usage. Manage cookies via your browser settings. If we implement a consent banner in your region, you may adjust preferences there as well.

Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure

The Service may display ads or contain affiliate links. Ad partners or affiliate networks may use cookies or tracking technologies to deliver and measure ads and referrals. We do not sell personal information for money, but we may “share” identifiers for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by certain laws (e.g., CPRA). You may opt out as described below.

Analytics & Measurement

We may use analytics providers (e.g., first-party logs or third-party tools) to understand traffic and performance. These providers may set their own cookies or receive limited data from your browser. Where required, we will request consent before loading non-essential analytics.

When We Share Data

  • Vendors/Processors: Hosting, security, analytics, advertising, or support providers under contract.
  • Legal & safety: To comply with law, enforce policies, or protect rights, property, and safety.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Data Retention

We retain data for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required by law. Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained without time limit.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure; transmission of data is at your own risk.

International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.

Your Privacy Rights (GDPR/CCPA/CPRA)

  • Access/Portability: Request access to the data we hold about you.
  • Correction/Deletion: Ask us to correct inaccurate data or delete it, subject to exceptions.
  • Restriction/Objection: Request we limit or stop certain processing.
  • Opt-Out of “Sale”/“Sharing”: For California residents, opt out of cross-context behavioral advertising or the “sale” of personal information as defined by law.
  • Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

To exercise rights, email privacy@pureindependents.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Authorized agent requests must include proof of authority.

Global Privacy Control / Do Not Track

We honor opt-out rights required by applicable law. Browser-based signals like Global Privacy Control (GPC) will be treated as a request to opt out of “sale”/“sharing,” where legally mandated.

User Content, Reporting & IP

Profile owners are responsible for the content they publish. If you believe content infringes your rights or violates law, contact report@pureindependents.com with details (URLs, screenshots, and your contact information). For copyright claims, include a compliant notice under the DMCA.

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted where feasible.
